About the Director

Amy Farwell, Stepping Stones Director, holds her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education as a Learning Behavior Specialist. As a seasoned educator, she has over eight years of experience working to help struggling students reach their full academic potential. Amy has worked in both California and Illinois as a special education teacher.  In that role she worked closely with students challenged with many different learning disabilities, autism, attention deficit disorder, and behavior and emotional disabilities.

Amy has experience as an intervention facilitator and instructor, teaching reading intervention and strategies and enabling students to achieve success.  She uses research and evidence based instruction as well as progress monitoring to drive instruction for each individual student to ensure accelerated progress. She is approachable and encouraging and possesses the ability to motivate students to give learning their best effort. Amy is passionate about education and believes that with the correct, individualized attention all students can reach their full potential.
